La passeggiata - The walk

La lotta con la parola, la lotta per la sua interpretazione, perché dall’abisso possa emergere ed esistere, è assai spesso il destino del cantore di poesie, per non dire del poeta. È la lotta di vita e di morte: è necessario che la parola nella sua forte materialità “uccida la cosa” perché la “cosa”: l’amore, l’attimo fuggente, gli affetti, la morte, i volti, il Dio, ad-vengano in una epifania che dischiude mondi a mondi.
L’impossibilità di raggiungere il reale, se non interpretandolo, nominandolo. Nulla è più distante della realtà, anche se nulla è più vicino. Sembra di essere condannati alla distanza, all’assenza, appunto a un dire che diventa e diviene soltanto comunicazione e comunione quando nel linguaggio si opera la presa-a-distanza.
Nella materialità di “Gestazione” di Gianni Xodo, una delle sue poesie di questa raccolta, tutto ciò viene programmaticamente e serenamente detto, e la lotta antica del cantore è espressa con solarità, come solari sono le sue poesie. Solari e terrestri, intrise di una solarità sana e arcaica che con pudore si dice.

Struggling with the word, struggling for its interpretation, so that it can emerge from the abyss and exist, this is very often a poet’s destiny. It is a life and a death struggle: it is necessary for the word in its strong material essence (materiality) to ‘kill the object’, so that the ‘object’, love, fleeting moments, affections, death, faces, God, can reach an epiphany which opens worlds up to worlds.
The impossibility to reach the real without interpreting it, naming it. Nothing is farther away from reality and at the same time nothing is closer. It seems we are condemned to distance, to absence, to uttering words that come to life and become communication and communion just by a distancing technique in the language.
In the materiality of Gianni Xodo’s ‘Gestation’, one of the poems in this collection, all this is programmatically and quietly said, and the poet’s ancient struggle is expressed in a solar way, just as his poems are. They are solar and earthly, imbued with a healthy archaic solarity which discretely tells itself…
